On August 21st, the 2024 China (Changsha) – Zambia Economic and Trade Cooperation Opportunities and Policy Training Seminar, guided by the Zambia Development Agency, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Commerce and Market Supervision Bureau, hosted by the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (CSHTZ ) Foreign Science and Technology Exchange Center, and jointly organized by the China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base and the Hunan Going Global Investment & Economic Service Platform Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Center (Changsha)”Changsha Operation Center, was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan.Wang Donghua,Deputy Director of Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Ma Ning,Deputy Director of Foreign Trade and Business Center of Commerce and Market Supervision Bureau of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, Luo Jing,Chief of Foreign Trade and Business Center of Commerce and Market Supervision Bureau of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area,Yan Yuan,Deputy Director of Foreign Science and Technology Exchange Center of Commerce and Market Supervision Bureau of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area attended this event.
Wang Donghua,Deputy Director of Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of Changsha at the meeting. He pointed out that Changsha has strategic advantages such as the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Deep Cooperation Pilot Zone. Zambia has many advantages in agriculture, tourism, energy and mineral resources, and the two sides have strong complementarity and huge potential for cooperation. He said that at present, Changsha is in the golden period of the “the Belt and Road” strategic development. He sincerely invited everyone to participate in the fourth China Africa Economic and Trade Fair to be held in Changsha next year, and warmly welcomed more Zambian entrepreneurs to layout more high-quality projects in Changsha.
At the meeting,Gabriel Musentekwa, Director of Business Development of Zambia Development Agency, also introduced policy information such as Zambia’s national conditions, investment environment, overview of cooperation zones, and investment promotion services. He stated that China Zambia relations have been friendly for a long time, and Zambia has a secure and stable political situation, abundant natural resources, and broad opportunities, making it an ideal platform for investment and business development. In the future, we will continue to play a role as a bridge and link, providing necessary support and assistance to promote cooperation between the two sides at a higher level and in a wider range of fields.
In the interactive session, representatives from key enterprises in Hunan, such as Changsha Mining Research Institute, Weisheng Group, Yuan’s Seed Industry, and Hunan Yite Medical, successively introduced and interacted with Zanfang enterprises on project overview, advantageous resources, business opportunities and needs through on-site connections. The atmosphere on site was lively, and there was a constant flow of valuable information throughout the process, which greatly benefited us and provided valuable suggestions for the next steps of our work. I hope to take this event as an opportunity to exchange markets with Zambia and promote cooperation between Hunan and Zambia to a new level.
